The Body Shop Spa of the World Tahitian Orchid Massage Oil retails at 1695/- INR for 170 ml. and you can buy them from The Body Shop counters, or online at their website. The Body Shop has a new range of products called Spa of the World that are going to give you an exceptional spa experience right at your home. Featuring body masks, scrubs, creams, and oils, in my opinion, this is one of the most comprehensive set of products the brand has featured so far. I have posted a photo of the range on my Instagram profile (follow me there for more!) and I picked up the massage oil while I was there.
What The Body Shop Says: Throughout the sensuous rolling hills of Tahiti, vanilla orchid is treasured in traditional massage. Blended with ylang ylang and patchouli, its exquisite scent tantalises the senses with unrivalled enticing and sensual properties. Use this pleasure-enhancing massage oil as part of our blissful ritual when your body is in need of luxury.

My Take: The Body Shop Spa of the World Orchid Massage Oil is designed specifically for massaging onto your skin. Given that, the oil is not lightweight, and you will need to massage it a bit before it gets absorbed. The best time to apply it is right before a bath, because once you have massaged it on and let it get soaked up by your skin, then you can take a shower and the result is soft and supple skin. It has a lovely slightly musky, creamy fragrance which really comes alive after it hits your skin, and the smell is quite relaxing to me.
I got my sister to massage my feet with the orchid massage oil and the results were promising – my sister commented on how the smell sort of evolved into a creamy vanilla in the end with touches of freshness which was really quite unique. The oil also induces shine, so can easily be used after a bath to hydrate the skin. A little goes a long way, and the oil is going to last me quite some time, which is another bonus. There are thankfully no sticky residue left, and that is a good thing about this oil, although it does not get absorbed too easily.
The Body Shop’s Spa of the World series features quite a few other products, including the Japanese Camellia Cream (which is what I am buying next – the tub is absolutely huge and it will last me a year or more at least!) as well as the Thai Lemongrass Massage Oil (which is what I am buying when this gets over), and they smell absolutely divine. Indeed, my bathroom is going to smell like the interiors of a Spa (the brand also has a name for this: #Spathroom).
