My Experience with Maybelline Lasting Drama Waterproof Gel Pencils
The packaging of these products is very basic – the bodies of these pencils match the shade colour. I initially thought of getting the black one as well, because it was really, really pigmented. Ultimately, I got two colours from the 9 variants to try. These were intensely pigmented when swatched on my hand, and I was really amazed by the striking colour on my hand swatch. After application, these need some time to settle down, and they aren’t 100% smudge proof, but they are great for blending out a bit for some added drama.
I wore Maybelline Lasting Drama Waterproof Gel Pencil Silken Turquoise for 12+ hours, and it smudged slightly, but stayed put otherwise on my dark eyelids. What I liked was the fact that these didn’t irritate my eyes – something I absolutely dread, and they didn’t have chunky glitters, again, something I hate, but rather, shimmers which didn’t stand out.
Maybelline Lasting Drama Waterproof Gel Pencil Polished Amethyst was the shade I was looking forward to, and it delivered brilliant pigmentation. I wore it for 6 hours straight on my upper eyelids and lash line, and this stayed put well. I did have to add a tiny bit of black kohl to my waterline to really make the colour pop, but I loved the effect. Taking them off required a good deal of baby oil (my makeup remover of choice for eye makeup) and cotton, and still a few shimmers left, so I had to wash that off.
In the end, I have to say I am quite liking the new colours – they are a vast improvement on the previous Vivid and Smooth pencils from Maybelline, and these do have the colour payoff which I was looking for. As these are now available over the counter, I would love to hear what you think, if you have got them already.

I was looking for a turquoise liner. When I went for my make up lesson. I heard about this, a friend of mine recommend this! One day, me and my mother, we were doing our grocery shopping in Superdrug. Suddenly, I just saw this eyeliner and swatch this for a while. And I purchase this that moment, without any hesitation! From that time I really love this one. I am using this regularly. This is really pigmented, blends so smoothly and very good for regular use! <3
