The season of Cake Mixing is here, and different places around town is currently holding the Christmas cake mixing ceremony. I spent quite a few happy hours travelling around Kolkata, and catching these events. Here are a few fun events I attended this season.
The Stadel
The cake mixing session was graced by a number of celebrities, and I could spot Chess Grandmaster Dibyendu Barua, PR Guru Rita Bhimani, Designer Lopamudra Mandal Saha, RJ Anup (from RED FM) and Papiya Nandi in the crowd. Plenty of lovely Fratelli wine and a good dose of cinnamon made everyone happy.
Bon Appetit
Bon Appetit cakes are definitely one of my favourite things to consume this Christmas.
Every year, Rahul Arora mixes a hefty amount of alcohol and dry fruits, and I join in the fun as usual. This year, members of exclusive food group Kolkata Food Fanatics celebrated Cake mixing, inaugurated by veteran journalist Shoma Chatterji, one of my favourite people to have around.
The event ended with a good deal of Christmas cheer, and copious amounts of food, served from the kitchens of Bon Appetit.
Quest Mall Food Court
A brief event was held at Quest Mall food court, where members of the staff and some guests joined into the Cake Mixing ceremony. There was plenty of merriment and happy faces as bottles were opened and poured, and a general sense of festivity in the air.
Disclaimer: Poorna Banerjee was invited to all the events by the respective management.
