The story of Black Dog Triple Gold Reserve is intriguing. Ever since Black Dog came to India, holding the hand of one Mr. Walter Millard, who made it popular around the country, and as a result, people sampled it quite a bit during British Raj and after. Post-independence, after a considerable period of time had passed by, USL (then McDowell & Co.) and United Distilleries India Limited in 1992 begun bottling operations for Black Dog from Nashik, because of the high demands that came from the Indian market. It was one of the rare times when a joint venture was made to bottle and distribute an alcoholic beverage.
Today, Black Dog is chosen by thousands of people around the globe because of its reputation. The drink’s popularity has been created over time, where the quality and flavor of the liquor has reached a cult status. Over the years, Black Dog released a number of blends in India, apart from their signature version. As a result, Black Dog Black Reserve Blended Scotch Whiskey, Black Dog Gold Reserve Aged 12 Years Blended Scotch Whiskey, Black Dog Reserve Aged 18 Years Blended Scotch Whiskey, Black Dog Quintessence Aged 21 Years Blended Scotch whiskey, and last but not the least, Black Dog Triple Gold Reserve Blended Scotch Whiskey.
The newest offering from Black Dog, introduced on the brand’s 130th birthday, was an almost instant hit, with its smooth, rounded notes, mellow taste, and glorious color. It is heavy, but not unbalanced, and has a woody tone to it which is definitely a treat. The rich golden color adds to the drinking experience, and the flavors tend to cling to the palate, improving from one day to another.
