The Body Shop Jacqueline Fernandez Makeup Collection (Lip Gloss, Mascara, Eyeshadow, Foundation) Review

The Body Shop has collaborated with Jacqueline Fernandez and come up with signature collection 2.0, and I recently got hold of a few of the products available from the brand. The products showcased today are:

Matte Clay Skin Clarifying Foundation (INR 1195/- – See more here)
Eye Colour Stick (INR 995/- – See more here)
Shine Lip Liquid (INR 645/ – See more here)
Lash Hero Fibre Extension Mascara (INR 1395/-)

I have always been apprehensive about wearing colored Mascara, simply because I never felt very comfortable. The Lash Hero mascara was the scariest thing – its dual-ended, and one end contains fibres that you need to apply first, followed by the blue colored mascara on the other end. Ideally, a coat of clear mascara should be used first, then the fibres, and finally, the blue mascara, which is called Texas Topaz. I forgot to apply the base, though, but I felt the end result was stunning! The lengthening fibres worked to make my lashes look more prominent, and the color stands out quite prominently. Made my mother blink and look again at me, I daresay!

I like the formula of this particular foundation, possibly because it blends in quite easily. That said, the shade 055 Moluccan Nutmeg is slightly darker than my NC 42 (MAC) skin, and I would have been better off wearing 042 Savannah Pecan, which would have been slightly lighter but wearable. It DOES oxidise a bit to darken further, and it is not really matte, because my nose was pretty shiny after an hour or so (and I don’t want to think what will happen to me when I wear it in summer!).

The Body Shop Eye Colour Stick

My favorite product from the range would have to be the eye color sticks, especially the shade I picked up, Bali Sandstone. Why?

Reasons why I love The Body Shop Eye Colour Stick Bali Sandstone

  • Easy to use
  • Good pigmentation
  • Waterproof
  • Great travel companion
  • Blends easily
  • Multi-purpose (eyeliner, eye shadow, highlighter)

I used the eye shadow as my base, and added a bit of highlighter on my brows from The Body Shop Down To Earth Palette, and the look worked out pretty well. I love the convenience of the product, and the fact that the shimmers are quite prominent, but can be blended out. It also works well as a base for powder eye shadows, and doesn’t crease.

For the benefit of my readers (read “me”), two colours will be examined today. I loved the beauty of the shade Apple Taffy – it smells divine! Like Caramel, in fact. But, then I smelled Cherry Gum, and that smelled like bubblegum and I HAD to pick that one. I have to say, I like Cherry Gum more – its so “in your face”! But, for conveniently putting on a no-makeup face, Apple Taffy is really good. The shine goes away in an hour or so, though, and transfers a lot, so I would definitely suggest reapplication. But, my lips smell great, and stay hydrated.

I did a full face makeup with just The Body Shop products, and I used a liner to define my eyes more when I was wearing the shade Cherry Gum on my lips.

In the photos, I am wearing Cherry Gum Shine Lip Liquid in the Left, and Apple Taffy on the right. I did use a little bit of liner to define my eyes more in the first photo.
I would love to know which look you liked more. Please leave a comment and show some love!
