The Body Shop Fuji Green Tea™ Refreshingly Purifying Cleansing Hair Scrub Review (and how it holds up against The Body Shop Fuji Green Tea Refreshingly Purifying Shampoo)

The Body Shop Fuji Green Tea Refreshingly Purifying Cleansing Hair Scrub is priced at INR 1995/- for 240 ml and available at The Body Shop counters and online.

I have never really used a hair scrub before, but I checked the labels and it states that you do need to use a conditioner afterwards (and I did). I have been using the scrub and the shampoo for a few weeks now, and the result is interesting.

My Take after Using The Body Shop Fuji Green Tea™ Refreshingly Purifying Cleansing Hair Scrub

I used the scrub as per the instructions. First off, you would have to really stir this baby up before you start using it – I used a short spatula I generally reserve for scooping up my face masks. Without this step, the salt crystals remain at the bottom of the jar. After a good bit of stirring, I scooped up a fingerful and mixed it with a bit of water to make a slightly runny paste.

The texture of the scrub was slightly weird – its more like a balm than a shampoo. Unsure of my next step, I used the slurry on my scalp and gave it a light rub. It felt great – more minty and menthol-y, and I was encouraged to rub the scrub in, massaging my scalp for a good few minutes. The scrub foamed up pretty soon, and I washed it out with warm water, following up with conditioner.
I do admit that my hair felt different – it was very clean and the result lasted for about 3 days in this cold weather. I tend to shampoo thrice a week (every other day mostly), but I realized that I needed this product less.

A Brief Comparison of the Fuji Green Tea Scrub and Shampoo

I used the scrub for two weeks and then switched to the shampoo. At 695/- for 250 ml., The Body Shop Fuji Green Tea Refreshingly Purifying Shampoo is a good shampoo for normal to oily hair, as it seemed to me, and it does a good job cleaning up my scalp and leaving my hair soft. But, the scrub sort of leaves me with a feeling of really squeaky clean hair, and that’s sort of inimitable, and so, if I have to cast my vote, it would definitely be for the scrub. You need it less, its great for cleaning up your scalp, and it doesn’t dry your hair out.

  1. This is really interesting! I’ve never heard of this product before. I’ll have to try it out sometime because my friend and I were just talking yesterday about washing our hair less.

  2. I have never tried a hair scrub before. This sound like a neat product to try out. I use a lot of gel in my hair and there’s always build up.

  3. Products with green tea are just the best. I never came across this one but it sounds its definitely worth a try.
