|Perfectly cooked Aaloo Tikki all ready to be fried and made into Tikia Chat|
A few days ago, I was hungry, tired, out of sorts and wanted food which was, in one word, unhealthy.
Of course, this is a relative term, but I have noted that this is one of those thing which is going to make you happy.
So I ate this gorgeous Pao Bhaji which this man at City Center I cooked up for me.. the one who sat beside a chai wala and offered me a cup while I was waiting for him to finish the cooking.
I could manage 1/2 plate because I was full from the Tikia Chat I’ve just had. From the guy who was his brother, and cooking the patty with a vengeance before crushing it and then smothering it in chana, runny curd, tamarind chutney and a lot of green chilli paste (I asked! Okay, no, I begged).
And all this for 47/- (Break Up – 20/- for the Pao Bhaji, 20/- for the Tikia Chat, and 7/- for one large cup of Chai because I insisted on paying for it).

I hung around, salivated, and ate and ate. And okay, I was assured that the tamarind water used for the “chaat” and other stuff was made out of pure water straight from the Aquaguard which was inside the sweet shop right beside the Chat Wala. Apparently they had a deal.

So, for all you people concerned over the safety issues, along with thoughts about all sort of water-borne diseases, this one is for you.
