The wedding season is the perfect excuse for anyone to buy makeup and skincare, and that’s what was happening at Taj Bengal, with Nykaa launching a beauty bar, with a number of brands showcasing their products to celebrate the season of glitter and glam, and I had to go over and see it for myself. Nykaa has been one of my favourite online shopping portals for quite some time now, and I wanted to see what they had in store.
Inside the beautiful Crystal Ballroom of Taj, I found several beauty bars set up on one side – from hair to nails, there was something for everyone. Brands like Kama, Tony & Guy, Faces, as well as Nykaa’s own brand were present, and I got my nails done in hues of matte shades, which has been a recent obsession for me.
Nykaa’s CEO, Falguni Nayar, was present for the event and I was quite happy to hear about the launch of new international brands on the portal, including Bobbi Brown, LA Splash, and of course, MAC, from her. She assured me that she was looking to bring in a number of major international brands in 2017, so keep an eye on the website for more details, and/or sign up to receive their newsletter. I was also quite intrigued to hear about the host of makeup products Nykaa is coming up with – I do like their lipsticks, eyeliners, and nail paints, and I cannot wait to see what else they want to introduce.
Youtuber Debasree Banerjee was present for the event, and there was a huge number of fans who wanted to take photos with her. A number of well-known faces from Kolkata were also present, including Koneenica Banerjee and Alokananda Roy, and I have to say, I love the way Nykaa is bringing beauty to people all over India, making quality, original makeup available to all. I did love some of the products showcased, including the matte lipsticks from Nykaa and the Lip Crayons from Faces.
