I felt the Lip Pouts are a rebirth of their lip tints, but the shades are matte rather than glossy and the packaging is slightly more chubbier than the tints. Just open the silver cap, and apply. No sharpening is required, since the lip pout has a twist-up system. The lipstick did not glide as easily as I would have wanted it to, but it improved after the first one-two application. One swipe delivers a semi-sheer finish, and two-three swipes make the shade go opaque. There is a nice vanilla smell, which I liked. It also does not bleed.

Oh well, I am all for classic reds, and the shade is a lovely blue-based red without shimmers or glitters, very similar to Ruby Woo from MAC, although not as bright or intense, but rather, more wearable and muted, which makes it great for someone who is looking for a nice red lipstick for office wear. I love the fact that the colour stays on my lips for 4-5 hours easily, and leaves behind a tint which fades after another couple of hours. It has a matte finish, and does dry out my lips slightly, but nothing which my lip balm cannot fix. I like the pigmentation, which is quite good, and the shade turns slightly towards blue when photographed under artificial lights. I love that.

Finally, I think I would have to give Lakme Absolute Lip Pout Starlet Red a thumbs up. Its a great colour for those who love reds and do not want a very bright shade, and the colour is something which would suit most skin tones.
