Lakme 9 to 5 Weightless Mousse Foundation is priced at 575/- INR for 29 gm. It is a light foundation from Lakme’s notable 9 to 5 range. I recently was sent the shade Beige Vanilla and I tried it out for about 15-20 days before I could actually give my informed opinion. So, here’s a brief review of the product after use.
What Lakme says About the Product: Lakme 9 to 5 WEIGHTLESS Mousse Foundation is your answer to a workings women’s barrier to using foundation. It is a lightweight foundation meant for everyday use. It is so lightweight that you won’t even feel you are wearing foundation. It not only blends in effortlessly, but gives a matte finish that lasts through the day. It is available in 4 shades and it extremely convenient to carry. The Shades are Beige Vanilla, Beige Caramel, Rose Ivory and Rose Honey.
My Take about Lakme 9 to 5 Weightless Mousse Foundation: First off, in general, I am slightly sceptical about foundations from Indian brands. However, Lakme is on my trust list, where I know that the products they produce are of top quality and suited to Indian skin tone. The foundation comes in a simple tube which is really convenient to carry around. You need to shake the product at least a couple of times before application, because in my case, it had separated slightly. Once you do that, its back to normal.
The product has a light, fluffy texture and spreads quite easily. As promised, it does not provide full coverage, but rather, more light to medium coverage. It does provide more coverage than Lakme’s CC Creams, but not very much. Texture-wise this is great for oily skinned beauties, as it is definitely not oily and it doesn’t feel like I am wearing anything on my skin after I have used this. It doesn’t fully cover blemishes or dark circles, so use a concealer for that. I like the fact that the finish is slightly powdery, which results in getting a slightly fresher, cleaner look, but the low pigmentation can be a serious issue with those who want a foundation with better coverage. Also, the number of shades are low – more options would have been welcome.
I generally apply it on moisturised face, and I am quite sure it will not require a lot of work during the upcoming spring season, and is a good option when you are looking for a light foundation which does not need much work to settle onto your skin.
