The KFC Chizza is the latest plan from the brand for India. It is essentially a pizza with a fried chicken crust. I was recently invited to taste it, and I have to say, this is the first of its kind from any mainstream fast food chains in India. I do hope this is not the end of such new products.
The KFC Chizza comes with a thick piece of chicken coated in KFC’s Hot and Crispy coating, and then deep fried before it is topped with cheese, onions, tomatoes, and pepper. It is cut up into four parts, and generally takes an average outlet 2-3 minutes to make. So far, I have had it from several outlets.
What I liked was the fact that the chicken is well-cooked, moist and juicy, with a good deal cheese on it. Personally, I would have preferred if the chicken piece was crunchier – the cheese on top of it makes the crust lose its crunch factor. However, the pepper and onion are both welcome additions, and give the faint illusion of eating healthy and also relieves the tongue from an onslaught of so much cheese and chicken.
The KFC Chizza is extremely filling – I mostly give up dinner after consuming one of these – a great option for those who want a chicken-cheese fix, minus the burger. For 169/- plus tax, it is a decent option at KFC outlets around Kolkata.
