On September 16th, VLCC held an event in ITC Sonar showcasing the people that they had transformed over the years. They handpicked a group of people who had been with VLCC for a considerable period of time, and had also gone through changes with the brand, redefining themselves and making a change in their lives and bodies. It took a good deal of courage to do so, and VLCC celebrated it by showcasing some of their prominent clients who had transformed themselves, and also had a beauty contest where there were 24 hopefuls transformed through VLCC.
Vandana Luthra, the founder of VLCC, spoke about the importance of transformation and how people can change themselves with the right amount of guidance. In the spirit of the same, she introduced 11 people who had not only changed their bodies, but also their lives through VLCC. Stories of battling weight and growing to love their bodies came out, and what was encouraging was VLCC’s emphasis on health and the body, which is a good thing to know.
The event was hosted by Mir and had special guests like Sourav Ganguly who came in to speak about the event.
Judges included Vani Kapoor, Dr. Ronen Roy, Priti Patel, Namrata Shukla, Vandana Luthra herself, Usha Uthup, and the contestants were divided into groups (sarees and lehengas).
In the process, 9 contestants were selected and the final winners chosen from them. The judges asked a number of questions to the contestants, and they replied with stories from their lives, which were quite sweet.
There was also a great deal of entertainment. Manipuri dancers from Ms. Priti Patel’s tea were present for entertainment, and a magic show which was really fun!
And of course, where there is Usha Uthup, can great music be far behind?
I loved the energy and spirit of all the participants of the show who had worked hard to transform themselves. It takes a great deal of courage to do this, and I feel that this was a great way to showcase the changes in one’s body.
Disclaimer: Poorna Banerjee was invited to the event by VLCC.
