Unpretty IckyPink RedDevil Cake with Blackdevil Bits Innit

Disclaimer – This cake can induce happy and uncontrollable smiles, gushing sighs and great amounts of “ooohs and aaahs” when you eat it. The cake is DEAD simple, and takes 45 minutes to make (including baking time) if you have things in hand.

Try it. You will be smiling too!

First Step – Before you make the cake, keep things in hand. You will need Oreo Cookies (enough to fill the bottom of your baking pan) and chocolate pieces (enough to cover each cookie with one piece of chocolate).

Second Step – For the chocolate ganache, mix together 2 tbsp butter, 1/2 tin condensed milk and 3 tbsp chocolate pieces. Heat gently over a simmering bowl of water and stir thoroughly until chocolate melts. Keep aside.

Third Step – Assemble the cake. Bring together a cup of flour with 1/2 cup of cocoa and 1 tsp baking powder. Mix and keep aside.

Fourth Step –  Beat 3 eggs (if you want a vegetarian version, beat 200gms plain yogurt) and add to it 3/4th cup sugar. Beat till the two are incorporated. Pour in 1/2 cup milk, 1/2 cup refined oil, 1 tsp red food color and 1 tsp vinegar. Beat again, and then pour in your flour-cocoa mixture. Stir till everything is just about combined, and then leave the kitchen for 10 minutes, while leaving the oven to heat up at 180 Degrees.

Fifth Step – Butter your oven bowl, dredge with flour, and then put the Oreo cookies side by side, making sure they line the pan thoroughly. Put some chocolate pieces on each cookie, and then cover with the batter, making sure you don’t see the cookies.

Sixth Step – Bake till you realize the cake is done. In my case, its done when I pierce it with a knife and realize the knife comes out with crumbs attached.

Seventh Step – Cool cake. Try Un-moulding. Let it come out clean. Cover with chocolate ganache. Cut in pieces and serve.
