Recently, RJ Arnabi launched her first book, which she claims is “part fact, part fiction”. I was invited to STORY for a reading session from the book, and its official launch.
The book launch was graced by friends and family of the author, which included a few celebrities. Among them were musician Bickram Ghosh, director Sudeshna Roy, and actor/model Chandreyee Ghosh.
After the book launch, there was a general round of felicitation, and some extracts from the book were read out. Essentially, this book has quotes which can help one go through with life. The quotes are quite truthful, and resonates with the reader quite easily.
The book contains 300 one-liners, which are “…tersely cogent, compelling”, and, to be fair, after listening to some of them, I tended to agree with the verdict. Bickram Ghosh took the stage, and talked about a few memories with the author, and read from the book a few poignant one-liners.
The book has been published by BEE books, and is available at Amazon India online. As Chandreyee Ghosh remarked, “the words certainly sounded familiar, and once you start reading it, you would think, why, I could have said that!”. The quotes are truths based on the author’s personal and professional life, and has resulted in a rather revealing read.
