What The Body Shop has to Say:
Wake up to clearer-looking skin! Our fresh and breathable Tea Tree Anti-Imperfection Night Mask is specifically formulated to care for oily skin and imperfections while you sleep. Infused with salicylic acid and Community Trade tea tree oil, this 100% vegan leave-on mask for oily skin will reduce the size and number of imperfections* and achieve clearer, smoother, and healthier-looking skin.
My Experience with The Body Shop Tea Tree Anti-Imperfection Night Mask :
The texture of this product is gel-like and is mildly sticky during application. It has a strong tea-tree oil smell (read medicinal). As it is a sleeping mask, you are supposed to take a little bit of it in your palms, apply a very thin layer all over your face (avoiding eyes and lips) and let it dry for a few minutes. Next morning, wash your face after you wake up. I have been using this for the last month in order to figure out if my skin texture improves or not. Here’s what I noted after using it every other day for nearly a month:
- My skin’s texture improved – it felt tighter
- My skin’s pores reduced
- My skin’s general state of oiliness reduced over a period of time
- Eruptions on my face (Especially right before my periods) were reduced significantly
- My skin felt really smooth after I woke up every morning
A Brief Comparison of The Body Shop Tea Tree Anti-Imperfection Night Mask with other The Body Shop Tea Tree Masks
I use The Body Shop Tea Tree range extensively and you can read reviews of other products here. I have with me two other masks and I use them regularly as well. Here’s my thoughts about the anti-imperfection mask when comparing with the other two, which are The Body Shop Tea Tree Skin Clearing Clay Mask and The Body Shop Tea Tree 3-in-1 Wash Scrub Mask.
First off, application wise, the scrub mask is easy to use, and you need to wash off quickly. Same with the clay mask. They both leave skin visibly tighter and oil-free. Also, the TBS Night Mask doesn’t remove all excess oil from the skin, but gently reduces the oiliness. That said, I felt that it also hydrated my skin, which is not something done by the other two masks, because after using them, I had to use a moisturizer.
Overall, I have to admit, this product will be in my repurchase list once it gets over, so I am adding one more favorite to my Tea Tree range.
