The Body Shop British Rose Eu De Toilette and Body Butter Review

The Body Shop has recently launched their British Rose collection in India, and if you follow me on Instagram, you would find a photo of the complete range of products launched in India. From Hand Cream to Body Scrub, this particular collection has it all, and I could not help but pick up a few products from the range. After a good deal of contemplation, I made my pick, and took back home the British Body Butter (INR 1095/- for 200 ml.) and the Eu de Toilette (INR 1295/- for 100 ml.). I went back later for the body wash, but that’s another post.

My Take on The Body Shop British Rose Body Butter and Eu de Toilette: The Body Butter is quite hydrating and light, and gets absorbed quite quickly. The scent lingers on my skin for an hour or two after use, which is why I generally apply this after taking a bath and before going to sleep. Although it is summer, my feet feel perpetually dry, and so, I tend to apply a generous amount of the product on my body, focussing on my feet, and then go to sleep. I love the soothing scent of roses lulling me to sleep. I did not notice any added glow to my skin, though, but the butter is definitely hydrating.

The Eu de Toilette, when used alone, is a bit of a disappointment. On my skin, it is got rose and a good hint of citrus and sweetness, which just makes me want to spray it all over me. Such a beautiful, summery scent! However, on its own, it doesn’t last for more than 2-3 hours, and the sillage is, well, very low. I can see myself using this all through summer, though, and it is just a beautiful, clean, rose scent which is exactly what I like wearing this season.

I have been using the Body Butter and EDT together for some time, and I have to admit, combined, they make a pretty great combination. Both the Body Butter and the EDT smell DIVINE (and yes, this is because I am a hopeless addict of rose scented everything), but, what I like is the fact that, when used together, they last for about 6-7 hours on my skin, which is a good thing, but seriously, I miss Moroccan Rose’s lasting power, which would linger on my clothes for absolutely days (and yes, this is a request to the brand to bring that beauty back!).

  3. Hey just wanted to tell you that they haven’t discontinued Moroccan Rose. They have just renamed it to Atlas Mountain Rose. It smells just as lovely as it used to before. I love that shower gel and body lotion. A perfume should be available at the stores too.

    1. the smell is slightly different. I checked, and trust me, I know. I had both Moroccan Rose and Atlas Mountain, and the latter’s staying power is far worse than the former.
