When I tell people I eat out three times a day, seven days a week, most people do not believe me. But, I can actually count the times I have eaten at home in the last month. Given the fact that I am constantly eating out due to my work, I do have trouble with my body, which refuses to be nice to me if I am not nice to her.

My body, like me, is a sassy woman, and she knows her mind.

So, I am not going to bore you today by telling you the great things Vitamin E does to my body. To be fair, it does a lot of things, but lets be annoying and say it out loud here:

We all studied science as kids and we all made it through fifth grade, where its clearly written that Vitamin E is good for your skin, hair, blood cholesterol levels, and metabolism. What it also does is help me out MAJORLY during my PMSing days, and trust me, you don’t want to be around my tired, cranky self on those days – I am a total tool bag on those days, and I shall hammer you into place if you are around!

Stop thinking if I am PMSing now. Its not funny.

Anyway, one of the reasons I love going into phrases of eating low-carb is because it allows me to eat a lot of things that are rich in Vitamin E. I am, unfortunately, a sucker for snacks, and thankfully, I get to eat a lot of nuts and seeds while being on low-carb, for example, Sunflower Seeds, Almonds, peanuts, and I tend to make a trail mix with those and a few other dried fruits and nuts together.

I could have given you a nutritious recipe to incorporate more Vitamin E into your system, or gush about how Vitamin E changed my life, but I think I won’t, because its difficult to believe the changes you see in your body with the addition of Vitamin E, and yet, being more aware of it had made me incorporate it into my daily meal plan, and a baggie of nuts is now always welcome in my handbag. It took me a good deal of time to see the increased lustre of my hair, the fact that a stubborn set of pimples slowly emerged and dissipated quite soon, and the fact that I was hitting the gym more often, not feeling as lethargic as I had been before, and I was feeling happier and more energized. And I slowly realized, that it wasn’t just a diet change, it was a change in my lifestyle.

Here are my three tips for enjoying a better lifestyle while incorporating more VITAMIN E into my system:

  1. Try eating a handful of nuts when you want to snack. I have realized a handful of peanuts or almonds make me far happier than a pack of chips.
  2. Make better choices while eating. Ideally, the best plate should be divided into half salad, a quarter protein, and one-fourth carbs. Make it a point that you’re often eating broccoli, almonds, peanuts, turnips,  and a lot of spinach.
  3. Use sunflower oil, butter, olive oil, or coconut oil while cooking. I generally finish a dish by adding a teaspoon of butter or olive oil on top. It makes the dish nutritious and also more vitamin-rich.
