Sephora recently launched its first store in Kolkata with Bipasha Basu inaugurating the event, and I was asked to come visit the store and see the collection before anyone else could. I met the COO of Sephora India, Vivek Bali, who was excited to launch the brand in Kolkata. He believed that Kolkata was a significant market and the expectations were high from the store. Sephora will be launching Nudestix and Klara, which is an Australian brand with amazing liquid lipsticks.
I was quite excited to collaborate with Sephora, and I looked about the store at a leisurely pace. Here are the five brands I would totally recommend from Sephora Kolkata :
1. Sephora
Sephora’s in-house makeup and skincare products are very good, and I have been a long-standing fan of their eye pencils, lipsticks, foundations and concealers. Sephora High Coverage Concealers are my go-to concealer right now, because they are full-coverage, blends flawlessly, and doesn’t look patchy and weird on camera. WIN!
2. Smashbox
Okay, here’s the deal. Smashbox Photo Finish Primer is one of their best-selling products and I absolutely love it. Their eye shadow palettes are really easy on the eye, especially their Cover Shot Eye Palettes, which come in six shades and are super duper convenient, because they are very compact and easy to carry around.
Their Always On Lipstick range is another winner, and the shade “Bawse” is a true dark red and perfect for the festive season.
3. Becca
I love Becca. I love their packaging, their products, and how silky their highlighters are. I LOVE Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Opal. Enough said.
4. Tom Ford
I fell in love, a long time ago, with a perfume called Santal Blush, which settled on my skin like a whisper and enchanted me with its spicy embrace. Ever since, Tom Ford has been a bit of an obsession. Check out Neroli Portofino and London as well.
5. Burt’s Bees
I love the lip balms and foot cream from Burt’s Bees. I blame S for giving me my first lip balm, and I was hooked ever since. Their quality is superb, and the foot cream really works!
DISCLAIMER: Poorna Banerjee was invited to the pre-launch of Sephora by the management.

Wow, those eyeshadows look great. I’m sure you had a heavenly feeling when you walked into the store.
