Having a fetish for all sort of strange jewellery makes me often want to mix and match designs and junk jewellery of all kinds is not a good thing when you are out shopping. So when Jaipuriya came up with a few interesting designs, I was excited to try them out. Garima, the lady behind the brand, is quite aware of my personal style, and so, sent a few over for me to try out.
Now, pairing jewellery with clothes isn’t really my forte, so I decided to take some time before I could understand what worked and what didn’t. Also, I wanted to wear the jewellery sent to me for a while before putting up a review – because seriously speaking, wearing a neck piece once doesn’t do a review any justice. However, I am glad to say that my experimentation paid off, and I was quite happy with the results. I paired this Jaipuriya neck piece with a simple maroon dress from Westside, and it worked quite well, because I got a lot of compliments afterwards.
I have always had a fetish for chandelier earrings, and the silver ones are not very light, but this does look really good with the black and pink long kurti (Also from Jaipuriya). I paired it with shocking pink leggings and black court shoes, and put on bright pink lipstick because I have a fetish for bright lipsticks in summer.
The other pair of earrings I got were golden with green and red on it, and I decided to wear it with a dress I got from Howrah Bridge, a designer brand which my friend Anupriya owns. They have a huge array of really comfortable dresses, and I loved wearing them for a shoot.
Notice the texture – the slightly uneven effect is a real winner, and this pair is really lightweight. I made my friend wear them as well, and she commented about the same.
The one pair I was slightly uncertain about were an unusual one – with a lion’s head on them. I ended up wearing them with my red and blue dress a lot – this one wasn’t very lightweight, but it was not uncomfortable either.
