Sadly, they do not home deliver, so I had to send someone over to get it, but it was worth the work.
Here is what I ordered and shared with my sister.
Chicken and Vegetable Soup |
This was my Chicken and Vegetable Soup (110/-). It comes with a clear broth, and I like it with a bit of chillies soaked in vinegar, nothing more. The flavors are perfect for the times when I am slightly down. This soup is like a warm hug.
The other thing I ordered was the Drums of Heaven (200/- ?? maybe), which were crumb-coated chicken wing pieces, served with a piece of lemon. The heat inside the package had nearly macerated the lemon and slightly steamed it, but it was still squeezable on the pieces of chicken, which were still warm and crisp.
I liked this a bit less, but overall, this filled my belly and partially filled up my sister’s belly, so both of us were happy.
I also love their steamed rice with roast pork and vegetables. This is one of the few restaurants which make a good pork in my area, so it is a staple for me. They also take orders if you call them and tell them what you want and when, and then pick up.

yes its another outlet, and can you beat this – my bff lives really close, so I went there a few days ago and the food was really bad, so realized that the Chowman near Golf Green was a way better option.
there is a Hong Kong opposite south city mall too. Used to be our haunt when we were kids. Unfortunately, the food quality has gone down and the prices have shot up. Quite a disappointment. 🙁
Since its really close to the house, I generally run down to get some food once in a while. Yeah, much better places, if I may say so, but this is kind of comforting.
Years ago, when eating out was an uncomplicated ritual comprising of a family of four venturing into a "non bharotiyo" cuisine (the chinese cuisine was as "bharotiyo" as they come, actually), this kankurgachi paradise used to rule the roost. There are surely better restaurants now, but the thought of you going and eating at this ol' place made me nostalgic…
