Perfume Review: Avon Far Away Gold

Avon Far Away Gold

I received Avon Far Away Gold a month and half back, and I just got around to reviewing it, because I really was in two minds about the perfume. Basically, I like Avon’s perfumes, like Little Gold Dress and Little Black Dress. Far Away Gold promises to make the user fall in love with its exotic fragrance.

Product Description: Celebrate the 20th Anniversary of our best-selling Far Away Fragrance Collection with Limited-Edition Far Away Gold! This new scent is inspired by the original Far Away, with enhanced oriental and floral notes. Experience the long lasting sophistication of rich Mohéli ylang, precious Indian jasmine and seductive Madagascar vanilla.

Quantity:1.7 fl. oz.

The price of most Avon products tend to vary, depending on the fact whether its on offer in the Avon Catalog or not.  Ideally, the price of this product is 1499/- INR. However, on offer, this is available for a lower price, about 20-25% less on an average, or more, if you are lucky.

I found this product to be quite a contradiction in many ways. I was fond of the gold bottle, but minus the tassel. As a result, as soon as I finished clicking pictures, that tassel ended up somewhere in the room, I am not sure where.

The scent itself is again a contradiction. Although it claims to have jasmine, Moheli ylang and vanilla in it as the notes, on me it muted down to primarily coconut with a touch of vanilla and jasmine. I am not a fan of the resultant scent, because the vanilla tends to make sure the coconut smell is more prominent. However, I am still in two minds about the scent, since my mother likes it on me.

The perfume lasts on me for quite some time, and that is one big plus point. I am going to continue using this simply because it is a nice scent for the upcoming winter, where this will remind me that spring is not far behind.
