I think one of the mysteries of my personal world of food has always been food which has been considered weird by a lot of people. Like chicken brains. I love chicken brains. And udders of cows. I love that too. Especially when it comes from Nizam’s that has its own beef restaurant now. I love you Mughal Garden’s. Really really really love you. I can sings songs…
Ok wait. This is getting out of hand. Where were we?
So well, I have been snapping off pictures of food. Addictive, tasty, lovely food. And here’s some of the food I have liked recently. Also of other things that has come into my notice.
This is a Fish Taka Tin (or something like that) from Kaafila. The fish was too fishy. I didn’t like it much but my friend went ga-ga over it.
Mirchi Ka Saalan with Jeera Rice from the aforementioned Kaafila. Now THIS I went ga-ga over. Its perfectly cooked huge not-very-hot Chillies stuffed and cooked in a lovely slightly peanut-inspired gravy. Served with the lightly spiced Jeera Rice, it is… in a few words, a gastronomic delight.
Hangout in City Center has this lovely little joint which is called 49, and makes something called Thai Crispy Chicken. C and I unanimously agree it is addictive.
Another thing that is very very good is the Hot Pot Won Tons, which basically is a good few of these lovely dumplings in a thick, extremely tasty soup. I love soups, and this was right up my alley— slightly spicy, thick rich broth, and perfectly cooked dumplings that fell apart on my tongue.
Dear Readers, welcome to my other obsession —- Joolry. The pictures are taken from Asian Arts, a fantastic shop that makes amazing silver jewelry, and sells them for a really tiny profit.
I was very very tempted to buy this little blue Buddhist Prayer Wheel but in the end bought a ring instead.
