Maybelline White Superfresh 12 Hour Whitening + Perfecting Compact is priced at INR 150/- for 8 gm. It is now available at Maybelline counters and online at Amazon India. I am always on the lookout for a good compact which can be a great product to carry around, and this one is definitely a bargain at its price. I picked the shade Coral, since it is the darkest, and the closest to my skin tone.

My Review of Maybelline White Superfresh 12 Hour Whitening + Perfecting Compact

The packaging is simple – a plain white and blue box enclosing a plain white compact case, which can be easily carried around, and comes with a mirror for quick touch-ups, and a simple sponge puff which I am not a fan of. The powder is pretty fine, and there are three shades to choose from – from very fair to medium skin tone (Pearl, Shell and Coral). Coral seemed to be closest to my skin tone, so I thought it would be easy for me to blend. The powder has a light fragrance, which is quite pleasant to smell, and does not last long.

Maybelline White Superfresh Compact in shade coral is actually quite a good match for my skin, and after I applied it, it settled and blended in well. A word of warning – this has a tendency to settle on your skin, so start with a little, which goes a long way, and the sponge applicator does not help. You can always up the quotient. I have medium skin tone (NC42 MAC), and this is a nice match, although if you are applying directly over dry skin, expect the powder to cling to the dry spots. A great idea would be to use this as a finishing powder, and use a big round brush to dab it onto your skin, rather than use the sponge applicator.

As for whitening my skin, I did not see any changes to it, so, if you think this will make your skin transform and become pearly white, please keep on dreaming. Rather, it reduces the blemishes, gives your skin a more even tone, and makes it look matte and fresh. I have been using it on the run, and I have to say, its staying power is about 4 hours, after which, reapplication is a good idea. I am not much of a fan of whitening products, but thank god, this does not do those things. As this is quite inexpensive and travel-friendly, this will be in my travel kitty soon.

And yes, that is my face after wearing Maybelline Superfresh Compact for about 1 hour or so. You can see my skin does not look tired or dull, but has a fresh look to it. This happened after a day out, so by that time, most of my make up was gone and I just had on some lipstick, Kohl and this compact.

Overall, I think Maybelline India has been coming up with some decent products recently,  and although their eyebrow stylist failed to impress me, this one looks like a nice product for its price. Although I am yet to see my beloved Maybelline Vivids in India, I am glad the brand is bringing some products to cater to Indian taste buds.
