While thinking of doing a makeup look with L’Oreal’s new La Vie En Rose (or Life in Pink range), at first I was unsure what would work the best on my skin tone, since I personally feel pink doesn’t look too good on me. But, that mistake was blown away when I spied the twelve different shades of lip colours from this range, where there is something for everyone. And then came the inspiration. I love the combination of rose and gold, but as I decided to keep this look rather simple, I wanted to do a fresh, wholesome look, complementing Spring 2016. However, there needed to be a touch of metal to it, so the eyes became slightly dramatic, to balance out the pretty pink lips.
I decided to do a simple look which is apt for both daytime wear as well as for an evening out. I picked out a metallic taupe shade from the L’Oreal La Palette Nude Rose to compliment the colour of my lips, adding a dash of plum to add some depth to my eyes. I lined my eyes with a dark brown liner, and added a lot of L’Oreal Volume Million Lashes Mascara which is currently my favourite.
I fell in love with quite a few shades from the range, but Eva and Liya’s colours from the lipsticks stood out for me. I completed this look using both shades – used the shade Eva’s Delicate Rose as the base colour, and added a bit of depth to the center of my lips by applying Liya’s Delicate Rose there. For my face, I chose L’Oreal Infallible Foundation, added a bit of colour to my cheek with the aid of a pink blush, and set my makeup with Matte Magique powder. I used a tiny bit of shimmers to highlight my browbones from the L’Oreal Palette, and tamed my brows.
I am currently loving the Extraordinaire Matte Liquid Lipsticks and a review of the products will be up shortly. You can check out the entire collection at Nykaa, and pick out your favourite shades.
