L’Oreal Color Riche Lipstick Raisin Rapture is priced at INR 899/- for 4.7 gm. and is available at stores as well as online at Purplle and Jabong. This lipstick is one of the colours which I picked up rather impulsively because for the last few days, I am suddenly crushing on dark berries and maroon lipsticks on my lips, and this is one of those
About the Range: Colour Riche® Lipcolour contains nourishing ingredients like Omega 3 and Vitamin E, plus the formula is enriched with Argan Oil to condition and soften lips. Your lips are kept soft, smooth, and ultra-hydrated. With a spectrum of gorgeous shades from bold to nearly nude, Colour Riche® Lipcolour offers a shade that’s perfect for every look and any occasion.
I am going through a berry-maroon-brown phrase, what my mother calls my “goth” phrase. Well, truth is, right now, its either all-dark, or au naturel , and shades like MAC Verve, MAC Dark Side, or MAC Absolute Power are making an appearance with an alarming frequency. I guess I have been deprived of a good red for long, and what better than to do this?
The packaging is a classy gold, but yes, over time, you would see it get slightly marred – that’s what happened to me after keeping this in my purse for the entirety of last month. The lipstick is a dark raisin – somewhere between dark wine and maroon, although it looks very weirdly brown in the package, and on my lips, its more wine than maroon, but on some others, I have seen the maroon notes shine. It does have a good deal of fine gold shimmers to enhance the texture, and that works rather well. I love the subtle sheen it provides.
This can become a great winter-friendly shade, and the texture is creamy and emollient enough for you to get away with only applying this, without requiring a lip balm underneath. It has the capability of drawing attention to your lips, but not be too obvious about it, which is the reason I like it over a few other colours. I would say that this and Oud Obsession (another lovely shade which Poutpretty picked up) are really lovely colours that can become your next favourite when you are going out to party, or to a celebration. Its dark enough to suit most Indian skin tones, as well as dark and very dark skin tones.
I have a feeling that on really fair skin, this might be a bit too dark, but that’s my personal opinion, and if you are comfortable, feel free to try it on! Staying power is about 4-5 hours and it dries up slightly, but as I am all for reapplying my lipstick, so I don’t really mind.
