Lakmé Perfect Radiance Skin Lightening Night Crème, Light Crème and Serum Review

Lakmé sent over a set of products for skin lightening a while back, and after I returned from my recent trip to Thailand, I was horribly tanned and my skin looked really dull, so I decided to add the light crème , night crème and skin lightening serum to my skincare regime. Although I am not much of a fan of skincare which promises to make you fair, after a look at the products, I decided to take my chances. The three skin lightening products are available as a combo pack for 1499/- INR on Amazon or individually as well. Here’s what I think after 3 weeks of using the three products together.

The Lakmé Absolute Perfect Radiance Skin Lightening Light Crème was the first thing I added to my skincare routine and used it as a moisturiser every morning. As it contains light SPF, I often skipped additional sunscreen if I wasn’t going out much. The cream has a light fragrance and gets absorbed pretty easily onto my skin. It is pink-coloured, and doesn’t leave any white cast or residue, which I like. When I first started to apply it, I used it with the lightening serum, and as a result, my pores got clogged and I got some eruptions. So, I eased up and used this solo on my skin and it didn’t break out. Although I haven’t seen any visible lightening effect overnight, the deep tan has faded considerably, especially from my neck and jawline.

I found the Lakmé Absolute Perfect Radiance Skin Lightening Serum pretty tricky to work with. When I used it with day/night creme, it always ended up clogging my pores, which was a major issue. However, in time, I decided to use it solo, especially as a makeup base, right before I put on my foundation and primer. This worked out really well as a pre-makeup moisturiser, and doubles up as a primer, leaving my skin looking fresh and quite well-hydrated. I don’t see any skin lightening effect, but this surely has improved my foundation’s wear-time.

Lakmé Absolute Perfect Radiance Skin Lightening Night Crème is what I was most worried about, and yet this one gave me the least amount of grief. I generally tend to wash my face and then apply this lightly and go to sleep. It has not clogged my pores (and thank god, that is a blessing!), has a mild smell similar to the day cream, and in the morning my skin looks quite plump and hydrated. I am using this for about 22 days now, and I don’t see any striking change in my skin tone, but, I do see my tan fading considerably, and I think this is a rather nice option for normal to oily skinned people, and dry skinned beauties might need something more moisturising during Fall and Winter season. I am also slightly sad about the way the skin lightening serum promised a lot, but didn’t do much for my skin, at least not yet. If you have tried products from this range, or would like to, then leave a comment letting me know what you think.
