Lakme Lip Love Lip Care are pretty Lip Balms from Lakme India and are priced at INR 200/- each. Three new shades were launched recently, which are Tangerine, Raspberry and Black Currant. I was pretty excited about the Black Currant shade because it was purple, and to be fair, I haven’t seen any other brand bring out such a pretty colour recently.
What Lakme has to Say:
- Super moisturising lip balms available in different flavours
- Luxurious creamy core that moisturises your lips
- Swirl of colour for a hint of tint, SPF 15 protects from sun damage
My Take on Lakme Lip Love Lip Care:
I am pretty fond of lip balms because I have an affinity towards matte lipsticks, and if you use matte lipsticks then you will know the woes of using one – they literally suck your lips dry, leaving them chapped, and one of the ways to not let that happen is by wearing a lip balm underneath. These lip balms are easy to apply, have a nice, smooth texture and are not sticky. They hydrate my lips and gets absorbed soon, which I prefer, because I don’t like lip balms which are too waxy and tend to sit on top of my lips.
These Lakme lip balms have a hint of tint to them. Raspberry flavour has the most amount of tint to it, and adds a mild dose of colour to my lips. The black currant one is disappointing in pigmentation – and that’s where my grief is – I wish this colour would be a bit more pigmented but its nearly transparent. It smells divine though – my favourite one among the lot. The tangerine pleasantly smells of orange lozenges, and adds a bit of pale red colour to my lips.
As my lips have a bit of pigmentation on them, these really doesn’t show up much, but I would vouch for Raspberry, which does leave my lips looking slightly pinker. These have SPF 15 so a mild amount of sun-protection is added, and its always welcome. I think these Lakme Lip Love Lip Care balms are decent products for the price, and you can definitely use them if you want to hydrate your lips, or for the times when you don’t want to wear lipstick, but want to add a bit of colour to your lips.
