Lakme Enrich Matte Lipsticks Review and Swatches

Lakme Enrich Matte Lipsticks are priced at INR 295/- for 4.7 gm. You can buy these from the Lakme counters, or online from several sources including this one. Currently, there are 20 shades available. I will review four shades from the range. Lakme promised to bring a range of affordable matte lipsticks for Indian skin tones, and the brand had mostly kept the promise.

About Lakme Enrich Matte Lipsticks:

India’s Number One Enrich lipsticks are now in a matte finish for the first time. Add some lovely colour to your lips with the Lakme Enrich Matte Lipstick. Available in a palette of 20 vibrant and trendy shades, each of these matte lipsticks gives you long lasting lip color.

My Experience:

I am a major matte lipstick lover, and currently, I am going through a sudden dark, vibrant shade phrase, and these lipsticks came in at just the right time. The colours have no name, but are numbered, something I am not fond of, but they have a set of pretty colours – pinks and reds and oranges rule, with some browns and fuchsias thrown in. A few days ago, a friend swatched all the colours on her blog, and I really liked a few from the range.

The lipsticks come in a simple silver and transparent plastic case, and is quite easy to carry around. They are pretty travel-friendly, and easy to touch up. The bullets have the word Lakme embossed in them, which is quite classy, and they smell similar to the original Enrich lipsticks, which is sort of comforting – always end up reminding me of raiding my mother’s drawer for lipsticks. I have four lipsticks with me – PM11, WM10, RM13, and OM11.

The texture of these lipsticks aren’t drying, and they glide on pretty smoothly, except PM11, which I had a bit of trouble with. I had to swipe it thrice, but still the colour was uneven. I was much more comfortable with OM11 and RM13, and these two also stayed on my lips the longest.

The shades stayed on for 5 hours easily without eating. I drank water, and these did transfer, but nothing major, to be honest. No feather, no bleeding, has decent pigmentation (at least 3 out of 4 does) and all of them left behind a stain. I ate and these faded unevenly, so after a meal, touch-ups are required. The colours aren’t drying, unforgivable mattes, but rather, are quite easy to wear.

I have been using these pretty extensively, and I do love the texture. For the price, these are good value for money, and if you wear it with a lip liner, and blot in between, these stay put for a considerable period of time. I have used two swipes on my lip swatch, and apart from PM11 which looks a bit uneven, I am quite happy with the rest of their pigmentation. Overall, I feel that although not true mattes, the texture, pigmentation and lasting power will push these ahead in the market. The new Lakme Enrich Matte Lipsticks are definitely worth the money spent and great budget lipstick for Indian Skintone. Let me know which ones you liked.
