Lakme 9 to 5 Insta Light Instant Glow Creme: Review and Top 5 Uses

Lakme 9 to 5 insta light instant glow creme

As I am constantly in the move, I have a bad habit of forgetting to take care of my skin. A couple of months back, the lady doing my facial scolded me that I had a horrific tan and needed to keep  my skin protected. To be fair, I try, but well, it doesn’t happen easily.

I have been testing out the Lakme 9 to 5 Insta Light Instant Glow Creme for the last few weeks. Launched in April, the product is available in multiple sizes, and I have used it when I needed a quick boost to my face before I started putting on makeup. To be fair, at first I was sceptical about the ways to use it, but slowly, I realized, this cream had multiple uses. You can purchase it from Amazon

Here is a short and quick review of the new Lakme 9 to 5 Insta Light Instant Glow Crème.

The lakme crème comes in a simple screw top pack, and can be carried easily. The texture of the cream is very light, and unlike other creams, which tends to make my skin oily, it instantly makes my skin feel oil-free. My favourite way of application for this is right after washing my face this summer, and then applying a layer of it and feel my skin being soothed. Also, I am carrying it to my swimming sessions, and using it after I take a dip. My skin feels hydrated, and it adds a definite glow. I have used it over my eyelids before putting on eye shadow, and I have realized that this can work out as an excellent primer. My skin’s open pores look smaller after I use it. It claims to have sunscreen, but there is no specification about SPF details, so I would not talk about it. I use a sunscreen with SPF40 after using this anyway.

The effect of the glow stays for a few hours, and it successfully makes my skin less oily, and does not clog pores – two major points for it. It also does not break me out, so that’s great. The mild fragrance of the creme is floral and pleasant. However, my skin in summer is oily and dull, so the effect is solely based on personal experience. Dry skinned girls might have a problem with this cream, especially while blending.

The price at 79/- for 20 gm is perfect for those who would like a great budget skin cream for summer.

So here’s the different ways I have used it, where it worked!

Top Uses of Lakme 9 to 5 Insta light Instant Glow Crème:

1. As a face cream for summer. This is good as a face cream for summer, especially for those whose skin tends to become oily. The formula is nice and light, and blends like a dream.
2. As a primer. Just before I start putting on make up, I use this cream on my face. It keeps my skin hydrated, adds a lovely glow, but does not make it oily. As a result, foundation clings to it like a dream.
3. As a brightener, especially on my cheeks and T-zone. This is when you want to give the illusion of glowing skin. Very clever move, Lakme.
4. As an eye primer. I love eyeshadows and the fact that this turns powdery and matte ensures that even really creamy eyeshadows get better staying power with this under them. I have used this product over my eyes, and it does not irritate my skin.
5. As a mattifying cream. This controls sweating to some extent, but does not clog the pores. But, best of all, after using it, my pores look smaller and my skin stays matte for a considerable period of time.

In the photo, I have used a thin layer of the cream all over my face and over my eyes. I have used the light pink shadow from Lakme 9 to 5 Desert Rose Eye Quartet, and lined my eyes with Lakme Absolute Gel Addict Liner in shade Must Have and Forever Silk Eyeliner in Jaded Mint. On my face, I have Lakme Absolute Mattreal Skin Natural Mousse Foundation and on my lips, Lakme 9 to 5 Creaseless Creme Lipstick Mauve Progress. The last was a gift from my friend S of Sorelle Grapevine. Also, thanks D of Poutpretty for giving me the pretty pink top!
