Food Coma at Bon Appetit Cafe

There are times when you need a friend to love you, hug you, kiss your boo boos, make it all better. And there are times when you need a friend who would make sure you feel UP when all you want to do is drown yourself in a moldy pond of sorrow.
White Chocolate spied through Dark

I am so glad to say that I have a friend like that.

Actually I have more than one.

But only one who makes splendid chocolates. And shares them, too.

White Chocolate “Milk Bottles” filled with Rum Soaked Dry Fruits.

So when He called over to share his Valentine Cafe Menu with me, did I refuse?

Nope.

Chilli Truffles

I ate.

The Dogs of War. This means WAR!

And ate.

Fallen Angels

Did I tell you I ate? I ate A LOT. And I was a convert because I don’t really like strawberries much and I cleaned my plate and sneaked in a couple of licks.

Beyond Good and Evil, there are Chocolate Crunchies with Rosemary and Fennel

The beginning was with chocolates. All kinds of them. Dark, White, Filled with rum soaked dry fruits, peanut butter, jelly, infused with Chilli Oil, resplendent with the crunchiness of wheat flakes and seasoned to perfection with fennel and rosemary. Served onna stick coating a very ripe, very juicy strawberry, followed by a cake ball.

Fennel. Crunchy. Woot!

The Possibilities were ENDLESS.

Chilli Cheese Fries. Fries. Smothered in Cheese.

Then came the main event. The fries. Or, the Chilli Cheese Fries.

Ah…. me lovelies…

Lemon Souffle. An Elegant Bystander who was not left alone for long.

Followed by a very mellow, tangy and light lemon souffle that perked up my flagging taste buds which were about to say “I SURRENDER” by and large.

Corn and Cheese Toasties. I <3 You.

Then came in a plateful of these beauties. However they didn’t stay for long.

Thai Curry Maggi. Yes, you heard it. And yes, we ate it.

Have I ever told you that I love Maggi? It was my obsession for a long time. And here it came, smelling faintly of lemon and coconut. Miaow.

Fresh. Strawberry Pancakes. Need I say more?

Have I told you I dislike Strawberries?

However….

Trio of Desserts.

I have been converted.

The beautiful Triple Chocolate Layer Cake. Did not last too long.

Ave Maria.

Strawberry Swirl Cake. Umm. Humm.

Oh. My. Dear. Lord. I. Will. Burst. Soon.

Strawberry Cheesecake.

And that was the finale. By that time, I was about to beg R for mercy. R, btw, has a beautiful little blog at this link and do check it out for recipes and food reviews and memories. The tasting menu for Valentine was a HIT and the best thing is, he has told me that he will be adding a few things to the menu of his cafe from this list.

I REALLY HOPE HE DOES.

  1. I will. I am going to introduce C to him next week. When you get back I will introduce you too. You'll like him methinks.

  2. Oh my GOD I have newfound respect for your stomach capacity. And PLEASE, don't apologise. You're a *marvel*, and I mean it in the best possible sense.

But WHO is this friend of yours, and tell me you'll introduce me to him when I come back next? Pleeeeeeease?

  3. I could not stop myself (horrified at myself for such gluttony right at this moment) and I was actually sent home in a car because I was too weak to walk back.

  4. omg, that is some crazy amount of food there, all of them so delecious looking! chilli truffles sounds so interesting, the lemon souffle has got me drooling & the chocolate cake looks to-die-for. lucky u! getting to eat all that on val day

  5. Insy – I did eat EVERYTHING given to me.

I am a glutton. A very full one, and fabulous one at that.

    Kekadi – I am I am I am. 😀

  6. You really ate all of that? I must confess that even I couldn't. I sincerely hope he adds the strawberry cheesecake and the lemon souffle to the menu. Also, I will one day tell you of my experience of trying to make a swirl cake — it was, in short, a disaster.
