Durga Puja Food Part Two: Pepper Chino/Don Giovanni’s

El Rodeo Pizza.

This was our meal around 2.30 am in the morning, when all of us were beat after much Durga Puja pandal hopping. We decided to run over to Don Giovanni’s for a pizza, and ended up in Pepper Chino on Sarat Bose Road (Lansdowne) where they serve Don Giovanni’s Pizza. This is one of the few places in Kolkata which stays open till very late, and this one has Don Giovanni’s Pizza which is delivered 24/7. On this occasion, we ordered a Rhodeo Special pizza, which had, among other things, incredible amounts of cheese, ham, salami, Bolognese sauce and sausages. It was every bit as good as it sounds, the crusty bread holding up to the insane amount of topping over it. We inhaled it, along with some keema naan, chicken cordon bleu burger (oozed cheese and mayo), and in between sips of coke. Service was not fast or slow, and we hated the fact that the guys gave us warm fresh lime every time we asked for it chilled.

Subho Bijoya

On another note, today marks the end of Durga Puja in 2013, and I wish every one a happy and prosperous year ahead. Subho Bijoya, and I hope all is well in the coming year.
