Blue Poppy, Middleton Row, Kolkata

the Chilli Sauce you get at The Blue Poppy. It is super hot, and not supposed for people who cannot tolerate heat. I had the whole bowl.

IN A FEW WORDS – PAN FRIED MOMOS FROM BLUE POPPY.

IN A WORD – INSANE.

Why I like it: under a too-sweet sauce lies this spicy and salty layer of stuffing which is encased in a layer of dough that is perfectly fried before being smothered in the sauce.

Also, if you are there, try the plain steamed momos, the thenthuk, shapta, men tse tse, q dashi and ema dashi. I would also recommend the Phalay.

However, what you eat is entirely up to your own discretion.
