Black Dog Triple Gold Reserve: A Fabulous Way of Unwinding with Friends

So, when my friends come over, sometimes, they just don’t want to drink plain whiskey. There’s a really simple reason for that – my taste buds really do not match that of most people, and while I love Black Dog TGR on the rocks, when it comes to friends, they just want something which tastes different.

So, I had my girls over the other day, and served them whiskey. Although K wanted it on the rocks, C had something else on her mind. She demanded a cocktail, and told me, very clearly, that she would much rather prefer something which would be interesting, tasty, and definitely with whiskey in it. I took her up to the challenge, and created a drink which she loved.

Summer is the season for fresh fruits like the humble mausambi. I decided to use that as my base. In a cocktail shaker, I poured in 60 ml. of freshly squeezed mausambi juice. To that, I added 45 ml. Black Dog Triple Gold Reserve Whiskey, and a splash of lime juice to balance it out. A quick shake later, I was going to pour it over ice and call it a day, but then I thought – why not develop the flavors further with a dash of ginger?

Out came my microplane grater, and I added a dash of ginger grated into the concoction. To round it off, a splash of sugar syrup was finally poured in.

Poured over ice in a highball glass, it was a lovely drink that she savored to the last drop, and told me that it was definitely something I should make for her again.

But why stop there? Soon I found myself experimenting with the liquor and make more cocktails with Black Dog Triple Gold Reserve Whiskey in them, with great results.
