Recently, Hyatt Regency, Kolkata started off a rather fun event, Bake with Hyatt, where the chefs from the hotel worked with kids to teach them how to bake cakes and cookies. Ladies from the KIWC (Kolkata International Women’s Club) along with the General Manager, Ms Britta Leick Milde were present too, to spend some time having fun with the children.
The event was to herald the upcoming holiday season, and the approach of winter, when Christmas special cakes, cookies, and puddings will be available at Hyatt. Chef Vikram Ganpule was quite excited about the event, and soon, the children were in the kitchen, trying their hands on different cakes and cookies. The initial process was pretty simple – they started with a sampling of the cookies and cakes on offer, and then the chefs helped them bake some.
Once the cakes and cookies were baked, they were presented to the kids, who tasted some eagerly. After that, the cookies were set out to be cooled.
Popular actor Koneenica Banerjee was present for the event, and she was excited about the cakes and cookies. “As a child, I loved Christmas cakes very much, and would gorge on them whenever possible”, she said with a laugh. “With all the kids around, I feel like a kid myself, this is so much fun!”
Once the cookies were baked, they had to be decorated. The children showed off their creativity with the aid of sugar icing, chocolate chips, and other little topping, and the end result looked great! The event ended with sampling of Hyatt’s Christmas pudding, and more cakes. The Bakery would be stocking Christmas cakes, Chocolate Santa, Mince Pies, Puddings, Christmas special breads, and Special Cookies for Christmas, and the preview looked very promising.
